Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu has promised the state is committed towards ensuring uninterrupted education for students residing in Hulhumale' Phase II.

Shafeeu said that the current administration would take any necessary or actionable decisions, whether it is to split the academic hours of Salaahuddin School to two sessions, to ensure students are provided with education.

In a post on X, the minister said several parents living in Hulhumale' Phase II have been requesting the ministry to facilitate enrollment of their children repeatedly. He confirms receiving over 800 such requests as of Wednesday, and anticipated the requests to exceed beyond 1,000 by 2024 end.

"It would benefit both the parents and students," the minister said, suggesting the government would launch efforts to split the sessions of the school into two.

As per the minister, the current predicament faced by  parents and students in Phase II is due to negligence during the development of Salaahuddin School, by the preceding government.

Meanwhile, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has broken ground on December 25th, 2023, for the development of a 1,700-student capacity school in Phase II.
