Aged Care Maldives (ACM) has said daycare facilities for elderly citizens is now a necessity, and urged relevant authorities to develop such facilities.
In the annual general meeting of ACM on Wednesday evening, the executive committee members highlighted the areas that needed immediate improvement and support.

ACM further emphasized such facilities will benefit several families, and said that the current economic conditions required both spouses to have proper employment, due to which they do not get sufficient time to look after their elderly parents.
The association said that requests and inquiries about daycare facilities have been rising more recently. While reiterating the need for such facilities, ACM said daycare centers should be established at a near future.
