Housing Minister: Skilled professionals important for building maintenance

The Minister of Housing, Land and Urban Development Dr. Ali Haidar has stressed on the importance of employing skilled professionals in building maintenance works.

The minister said this during the concluding ceremony of the Staff Property Management Course organized and held by the ministry, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

While speaking in this regard, the minister also noted the importance for the establishment of a tenants' union or association; which would be responsible with forming guidelines or policies that would preserve and protect the rights of tenants.

The union or association, according to minister Haidar, will also be responsible in finding qualified professionals or contractors to manage and maintain the properties.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Haidar said the course of property management which has concluded, was aimed at providing relevant information to its participants about the standard practices in real-estate and building maintenance sector.

He said the ministry plans on holding similar training programs in the coming weeks, and asked for support from relevant institutions.
