The commission's President highlighted this agreement will pave way for the entities to combat against acts of corruption.

Objectives of the agreement include;

  • Identifying areas of collaboration between the entities and seeking realistic approaches to achieve the objective of combatting corruption
  • Setting out a framework of responsibilities and tasks the ministry will achieve with the counsel of the commission
  • Skill and knowledge exchange programs between the entities and establish a feedback process in addressing cases
  • Setting out a policy/guideline on corresponding the entities' work to the media

Islamic Minister thanked ACC's president and staff for their collaboration. He also assured the ministry will uphold integrity in their efforts as partner to the agreement with the commission.

"I assure today, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs will extend full cooperation with integrity in honoring the agreement signed today," the minister said.

Shaheem said he prioritized integrity and transparency of the ministry in addressing its responsibilities.

ACC President, Shamil stressed the importance of inter-agency cooperation in the commission's efforts to rid of corruption and misconduct. He noted this ambition will not be realized without the support of all stakeholders.

Shamil said he was confident of Islamic Ministry's full cooperation to ACC in their efforts.

"Today is evidence of unintervened cooperation by the agencies to ACC in our efforts. As such, I am not skeptical about the support we will receive," Shamil added.
