Islamic Minister Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed has traveled to Saudi Arabia on Friday to sign an agreement related to Hajj and Umrah.
Minister Shaheem, in a post on Facebook, said the trip is being undertaken at the invitation of Saudi Arabian Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah to attend the Hajj and Umrah Conference and to sign an agreement being executed with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on Hajj and Umar Service.
Hajj and Umrah Conference and an international conference featuring an array of scientific sessions, workshops, and training seminars.
This year, the Conference will be held in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah from January 8th to January 11th.
In his post, Minister Shaheem further said President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has instructed undertake efforts necessary to enhance services provided to local Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
Therewith, he said he would hold discussions with the relevant authorities in this trajectory during this trip.
He also noted that he will undertake visits to religious institutions during the trip and meet the heads of some Islamic nations and organizations on the sidelines of the conference and seek technical and financial cooperation for Islamic Ministry’s undertakings.
The new administration has decided to allocate all official quotas Maldives receives from Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage to the Maldives Hajj Corporation.
