MDA to contest PPM-PNC primaries for Majlis election

Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) says it plans on contesting the PPM-PNC primaries for next year’s parliamentary elections.

The announcement comes after PPM-PNC coalition decided to open its primaries for its coalition partners MDA and Maldives National Party (MNP).

In a statement on Thursday, MDA said that candidacy was open for interested individuals.

The conditions for MDA candidates are:

Being registered as a member of MDA as of December 10

Lack of any measures that would disqualify the interested candidate from contesting the election on behalf of MDA

Meeting the requirements for a candidate under the constitution and laws

Honor and integrity

MDA asked interested candidates to email their candidacy forms and other relevant documents by 02:00 pm on Monday to [email protected].

The candidacy form and candidacy agreement will be available from MDA’s headquarters between 09:00 am and 02:00 pm.
