President Muizzu meets Indian PM Modi, to set up a core group to deepen partnership

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Friday, met with India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which both leaders discussed ways to promote further cooperation between the nations.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, UAE.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his congratulations to President Muizzu on his assumption of office, two weeks ago.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. They also highlighted the importance of development and economic cooperation, people-to-people contacts between the two countries and discussed ways to enhance this, including setting up a high-level committee.

Additionally, they also discussed ways to promote further cooperation in the area of sports.

As per the spokesperson of India’s External Ministry Arindam Bagchi, both leaders also agreed to set up a core group to deepen cooperation between the two nations further.
