President Muizzu meets UK’s King Charles

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Friday, met UK’s His Majesty King Charles III on the sidelines of the Twenty-Eighth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

During the meeting, both leaders discussed the longstanding bilateral relations, further strengthening the excellent ties between the Maldives and the UK.

The conversation also centered around climate change mitigation, with President Dr Muizzu sharing information about the measures the Maldives has taken.

His Majesty King Charles assured his commitment to assisting with environmental initiatives in the Maldives.

President Muizzu traveled to UAE’s Dubai for COP28 after concluding an official visit to Türkiye at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; his first visit to a foreign nation since assuming office.
