President Muizzu meets Turkish president Erdoğan

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, as part of his ongoing visit to the Türkiye, has met with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The President’s Office of both Maldives and Türkiye has shared pictures of the meeting between the two presidents on X.

However, details of the meeting have not yet been disclosed by either office.

President Muizzu traveled to Türkiye on Sunday; his first official visit to a foreign nation since assuming office. He is accompanied by First Lady Saajidha Mohamed.

President Muizzu will return to the Maldives after attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP 28, to be held in the United Arab Emirates on November 30th.

Prior to this, the first official visit to a foreign nation by newly sworn-in Maldivian presidents has been undertaken to neighboring India.
