President appoints Special Envoy for Climate Change, 11 new state ministers

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Ali Shareef as the Special Envoy for Climate Change, and state ministers to several government ministries.

They were presented with their letters of appointment in a ceremony held at the President’s office on Wednesday afternoon.

The appointments made on Wednesday are:

  • Lubna Mohamed Zahir, Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology
  • Mohamed Thariq Ahmed, Minister of State for Economic Development and Trade
  • Dr. Amzath Ahmed, Minister of State for Fisheries and Ocean Resources
  • Abdul Razak Ibrahim, Minister of State for Sports, Fitness and Recreation
  • Mohamed Shahuruzziyad, Minister of State for Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage
  • Mariyam Fizaana Rashyd, Minister of State for Higher Education, Labor and Skills Development
  • Dr. Abdul Raheem Hasan, Minister of State for Higher Education, Labor and Skills Development
  • Fathimath Mohamed, Minister of State for Higher Education, Labor and Skills Development
  • Ahmed Shafeeu, Minister of State for Higher Education, Labor and Skills Development
  • Ahmed Munaz, Minister of State for Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts
  • Mohamed Ibrahim, Minister of State for Cities, Local Government and Public Works

President Muizzu, who took office last weekend, has been making a number of appointments in recent days.
