The woman who was arrested in October for attacking a salesman inside a shop has been released from custody.
A video of the incident which took place on October 8th that had gone viral on social media shows the woman entering an electronics shop in Male’ and talking to a male employee. After a while, the video shows the woman took a knife and suddenly stabbed the employee in the neck and left the shop.
The woman, a 29-year-old as identified by the police, was arrested on the same day and remanded in police custody for 15 days.
A Police Spokesperson told Sun on Thursday that the woman was released from custody on Tuesday, November 7th, as they saw no further reason to keep her in custody.
However, the Spokesperson stressed that the case was still under investigation.
The victim who was injured in the incident was treated at ADK Hospital briefly before being discharged. He is in good health.
