Maldives Metrological Service (Met Office) states Male’ saw 57 millimeters of rain during the extended period uninterrupted heavy rain on Friday morning.
Information publicized by the Met Office shows that the most rain was recorded between 8:00am 10:00am this morning.
In those two hours, 57 millimeters of rain was recorded in Male’ City, and 67 millimeters of rain in Hulhule’.
Male’ roads were flooded up above ankle length as a result of the heavy rain.
Subsequently, MNDF officers were engaged in draining the floods.
As per Met Office, rainy weather is expected in the Male’ area for the next 24 hours, with strong winds.
However, the sea is only expected to be mildly rough.
