The Maldivian government issued a statement today harshly condemning the Israeli attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza, where many of the people of Gaza are living.
The statement said the Maldivian government considers Israel's attacks and inhuman acts against civilians to be in violation of international human rights law.
The government reiterated its call on the international community to stop the attacks against innocent Palestinian civilians and to do everything possible in accordance with the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly this past Friday.
The government also called to further strengthen the efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people without any hindrance.
AlMayadeen newspaper reported that more than 100 people were killed and more than 300 injured in six Israeli bombings of the Jabalia refugee camp. These include a large number of children.
The number of Muslims killed from Israel's inhumane attacks in Gaza has risen to more than 8,500, AlMayadeen relayed as what a spokesman for the Gaza health ministry said. While many people were injured, hundreds are trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings.
