STO group donates MVR 1 million for Palestine

MVR 1 million has been donated to Palestine by State Trading Organization (STO) and its subsidiaries.

The cheque was handed over during the special telethon, organized by Maldivian media stations to aid Palestinians in besieged Gaza on Tuesday.

Senior officials from STO and its subsidiaries, including Fuel Supplies Maldives (FSM), Allied Insurance, Maldive Gas, Maldives State Shipping (MSS) and Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) signed the commemorative cheque during the handover.

This marks the largest donation from a single party in the ongoing telethon.

The donation was made to the relief fund opened by the International Aid Campaign (IAC) to aid Palestine.

Speaking during the telethon, STO’s Managing Director Abdulla Saeed, underscoring MVR 1 million as the amount possible to donate at this time, expressed hope to make additional donations later.

IAC and local media outlets extended gratitude to STO and its subsidiaries for the generous donation.
