The largest plant nursery in the Maldives has opened in Hulhumale’.
The nursery developed near Hulhumale’ cemetery as part of Male’ City Council’s ‘Male’ Fehi’ nurseries was inaugurated by Male’ City Mayor Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Monday evening.
Speaking after the inauguration – Muizzu said the nursery was part of Male’ City Council’s efforts to ‘greener’ the Male’ area.
The nursery comprises of an expansive variety of plants – from flower plants to fruit plants and date palms – which will be available for purchase as per Muizzu.
“A very special feature of this place is a butterfly garden. The number of butterflies will climb up to the amount we desire within some more time,” he said.
Muizzu, noting butterflies are bred in the garden even at present, said the goal was to ensure the presence of 1,000 butterflies of four types in the garden always.
