Top PPM-PNC officials, including Sembe, visit Qasim at Sun Island

Top officials from the opposition PPM-PNC coalition, including MP Hussain Mohamed Latheef (Sembe), the running mate of the party’s presidential candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, visited the Villa Park, formerly Sun Island, on Wednesday, to meet JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim.

Qasim’s adviser, former Vilimale’ MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik said the delegation from PPM-PNC arrived at Villa Park on Wednesday evening.

In addition to Sembe, the delegates also include PPM’s parliamentary group leader, Eydhafushi MP Ahmed Saleem (Redwave Saleem); PPM’s deputy leader, Naifaru MP Ahmed Shiyam; PNC’ deputy leader, Maavah MP Mohamed Saeed; and Mahibadhoo MP Ahmed Toriq (Tom).

According to Nihan, they arrived at Villa Park to invite JP to partner with the PPM-PNC for the presidential election runoff on November 30.

The meeting will be held tonight at Villa Park, he said.

JP’s leader Qasim had contested unsuccessfully in the first round of voting on Saturday. While JP has over 17,000 members, he won just 5,460 votes – 2.4 percent.
