Four employees at the Health Centre in GDh. Gadhdhoo have been suspended after a child was injected with expired IV fluid.
Health Ministry’s media official, Aminath Shaufa, guaranteed Sun that the employees have been suspended.
She said that an investigation of the matter began as soon as the issue came to the Ministry’s attention and is still ongoing.
A resident of Gadhdhoo told Sun that the IV was injected into the child yesterday.
The resident also said that they found out today that the IV that was injected into the child, who was admitted two days ago due to high fever and fatigue, was expired.
There were protests in the island following this incident.
