President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has promised to develop a 100-bed hotel in GDh. Vaadhoo, if the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) coalition is re-elected for a second term in office.
He made the pledge during a campaign rally in Vaadhoo on Wednesday morning.
Addressing the rally, President Solih said there are many things that voters must consider ahead of the presidential election in September, including which administration delivered on its pledges.
“September 9 is the day you will decide. I know where the sentiments of the people of this island lie,” he said.
President Solih said that in additional to developing a 100-bed hotel, he will also construct an administrative building for the island’s school, build a sports complex, develop the island’s roads, and construct administrative blocks for the island’s health center.
He also pledged to build a swimming track, a regional-standard volleyball court, and build flats and rowhouses.
