The best approach is to practice perfection in everything you do, states Maldives Development Alliance (MDA)’s president and Dh. Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed.

He made the remark while speaking at the award ceremony for the 'Sun Siyam Quran Competition 1444', held in K. Guraidhoo on Saturday.

During his speech, Siyam emphasized the significance of striving for perfection and excellence.

"You know, if we want to do something, we have to do it in the most beautiful way. You know, Allah loves beautiful things. Good smells. So, everything we do should be beautifully done,” he said.

Moreover, Siyam also stressed on the importance of reciting the Holy Quran in a way that affects others.

According to him, this will have a positive impact on others.

Siyam illustrate his point by sharing an experience.

He said that he went to open a mosque in an island, and was surprised to see someone he knew at the mosque – a man who had never frequented mosques before.

"Then I said, 'I'm very happy to see you here, why did you come to the mosque today?' The man replied with ‘Just praying, what about you?’. He then proceeded to tell me about how he couldn't bear to ignore the call to prayer from the muezzin. He was just overcome with emotion and came to pray in the mosque,” recalled Siyam.

Siyam said the lesson of the story is that many will respond to a beautiful call to prayer or recitation of the Holy Quran.

He said that it demonstrates the importance of doing what one does to the fullest.

Siyam repeated his call to “do whatever you do to the best of your ability.”

He also called on the people to spread and promote the knowledge of the Holy Quran, and stressed the need to organize more Quran competitions and increase the number of hafizes given Maldives’ Islamic faith.
