President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ratified two legislatures related to elections
The two legislatures were ratified on Thursday.
The first legislature was an amendment to the General Elections Act.
The bill amends Article 45(b) and insert a new provision, to implement procedures enabling visually impaired voters to mark their ballots independently.
The second legislature was an amendment to the Presidential Elections Act.
The bill amends Article 5(d) of the Act, and extends the presidential candidature filing window from 10 to 14 days.
Both bills were passed by the Parliament on June 19.
Both amendments are no in effect, following ratification and publication in the Government Gazette.
