Adhaalath Party condemns the harassment of party member by the opposition coalition on Wednesday.

In a statement released by AP, the party condemned to the highest degree, the bullying, use of foul language, calling for violence, as well as attempting to get in the way by participants of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and People’s National Congress (PNC) protest.

The party said that this was a weak attempt by competitive political adversaries to get in the way of the invitation of Islam and defaming the religious scholars in Maldives.

Moreover, AP said that these actions were a scary indicator of the plans to overthrow the peace and prosperity established within the nation by the current government, and replace it with unrest.

In the statement the party gave assurances that such weak actions would not hinder the work done by the party’s religious scholars with regard to the Islamic invitations, and that they would carry on without any hesitations.

A video has been going viral on social media that shows Dr Iyaz attempting to drive away from a crowd of opposition protestors as they try to get in his way, verbally harass and shout at him using foul language.
