EC opens application to international observers for presidential election

The Elections Commission (EC) on Saturday opened application to international observers for the upcoming Presidential Elections. 

In an announcement made by the commission, it was stated that international observers and monitors who was to observe the presidential elections can submit their applications until the 25th of July. 

Some of the requirements that applicants need to meet include not being over 18 years of age, not supporting of any of the candidates, and being from an international organization.

This years Presidential Elections are slated for September 9, and over 280,000 Maldivians are eligible to vote.
