Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), on Thursday, stated that its laboratory services have been temporarily halted over an issue with the water system at Dharumavantha building’s ninth floor where the laboratory is located.
Announcing the service interruption via a tweet, the hospital said they are unable to run any tests at the moment – whereas they will inform once the problem is resolved.
IGMH’s Spokesperson told Sun that the service interruption was informed immediately as patients do not require prior appointments to obtain laboratory services from the hospital. Noting that the issue with the water system has not yet been resolved – the Spokesperson said efforts were underway in this trajectory.
“Not exactly sure what issue the system is faced with. But efforts are presently underway to resolve it,” the Spokesperson said.
The Spokesperson further detailed that tests of patients currently admitted at the hospital, until the issue is resolved, will be run by sending the samples to Hulhumale’ Hospital.
IGMH’s laboratory located in Dharumavantha building’s ninth floor provides services 24 hours. Following the inauguration of Dharumavantha building, multiple departments of IGMH, including the laboratory, had been shifted to the building.
