President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Wednesday visited the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin 2023 in Germany.
It is the first time in three years that the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is physically attending the fair, and the first time Maldives is participating in the fair after winning the title of ‘World’s Leading Destination’ at the World Travel Awards for three consecutive years.
During the visit, President Solih and First Lady Fazna toured the Maldives’ stand at the fair, featuring the unique qualities of Maldivian hospitality and the variety of services and experiences it offers.
MMPRC presented President Solih with a miniature model of the stand during his visit.
ITB Berlin is a B2B platform for tourism industry partners and businesses. The Maldives is attending the fair this year with 233 representatives from 91 companies, accompanied by officials of Tourism Ministry and MMPRC.
President Solih arrived in Germany on Tuesday after attending the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in Doha, Qatar.
During his time in Germany, President Solih will meet German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, for bilateral talks between the two countries.
He is accompanied on the visit by a high-level delegation government officials.
