Higher Education Ministry has also been shifted to the newly developed government office complex in Hulhumale’, ‘Umar Zahir Office Building’.
On this note, the Ministry stated that its administrative undertakings will be at Umar Zahir Office Building’s fifth floor starting from today.
While many government offices are scheduled to be shifted to the new building in Hulhumale’ – the first office shifted, in this regard, was the Gender Ministry in January. Transport Ministry, meanwhile, shifted all services provided by the Ministry to the new building in February.
Housing Ministry has previously stated that the Embassy of the United States in the Maldives will be shifted to the building in the near future.
State Minister for Planning Akram Kamaluddin previously told Sun that government offices presently renting buildings have been prioritized in the shifting process.
The new government office building in Hulhumale’ has been named after late Umar Zahir, a state dignitary and honoree of the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzuddin. The ground floor and the first floor of the six-story office building have been dedicated to parking. Offices will be situated from the second floor to the fifth floor. The sixth floor comprises of a meeting room, a seminar room, and a terrace.
