Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid, on Friday, met his Indian counterpart, the External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The meeting was held in New Delhi on the sidelines of Foreign Minister Shahid’s ongoing official visit to India to partake in the 8th edition of the Raisina Dialogue.
During the meeting, both ministers discussed the existing close relations between the Maldives and India in addition to avenues to further collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Minister Jaishankar underscored the successful economic relations between both nations and inquired regarding the progress of projects underway in the Maldives under grant assistance and credit lines provided by India.
Both ministers also reiterated their commitment to continue collaborations on mutual areas of interest between both nations and in the international purview.
Minister Shahid traveled to India on an official visit last Wednesday. During this trip, he is scheduled to meet with a number of Foreign Ministers and leaders of the Indian Government.
