Elderly man drowns in Nadella

An elderly man who went fishing in GDh. Nadella has been found dead.

Nadella councilor Faisal Najeeb identified the deceased as a 60-year-old male.

According to Najeeb, the man had gone to the beach with a net to catch fish after Fajr prayer on Sunday.

His children began searching for him after he failed to return home by afternoon.

“His children found him dead in the island’s lagoon, close to the shore,” he said.

Najeeb said the hospital declared him dead upon arrival.

According to Najeeb, the deceased knew how to swim, and would sometimes go to the beach to catch fish using a net.
