CP: Police training needs to be adjusted to meet ever-changing times

Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has remarked that police training needs to be adjusted to meet the ever-changing times and people’s hopes.

Speaking during the closing of the 34th police initial training course at Addu City on Saturday night – CP Hameed said that standards set for the police must be equivalent to the training given to officers. He emphasized the need to familiarize police staff with the nature of their work in the course of their training.

CP Hameed underscored that the strategy at present was to develop police officers who are overall fit for any operation circumstances that are equipped with different skills. He also said that the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement needed to be the place where the changes required to Maldives Police Service are first witnessed.

Speaking further, CP Hameed noted that the police career promises a multitude of arenas to pursue after graduation for a bright future. On this note, he said that the police career comprises of full of important educational and training opportunities from across the world.
