Male’ City Council on Thursday announced opening submission of permits for those seeking to put up campaign posters and banners for the upcoming Presidential Elections.
In an announcement made by the council, it was urged to seek the council's permission to put up banners for the election, as well as for any other purposes such as advertising.
Moreover, it was stated that putting up any kind of advertisement without a permit is prohibited and that those who do so would be fined.
In the statement, the council warned that in addition to a daily fine of MVR 1000, the banners and materials will be destroyed as well.
Additionally, the council highlighted that it will not be held responsible for the destruction of banners and advertisements put up without seeking proper permission.
