Tourist arrivals to Maldives exceed 100,000 in November, India tops market

Statistics by Tourism Ministry show that Maldives recorded 146,886 tourist arrivals in November.

Arrivals during the same period last year were lower, being 144,725.

The highest number of arrivals during November was recorded on the 12^th; 5.663.

Top tourist markets to the Maldives during November were India, Russia, UK and Germany, respectively.

• India – 19,376 tourist arrivals
• Russia – 18,149 tourist arrivals
• UK – 15,534 tourist arrivals
• Germany – 12,499 tourist arrivals

Total tourist arrivals for the year have exceeded 1.5 million as of present.

Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, in November, stated that the government’s tourist arrival target for the year, 1.6 million, will be reached in late December.
