In order to open more doors for the youth, Maldives National University (MNU) has started the “Fahi Furusathu” job festival.
This job festival was inaugurated by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr Ibrahim Hassan on November 9. The opening ceremony was attended by higher officials of MNU.
Speaking at the ceremony the Minister said that this initiative by MNU is very important and beneficial for the youth.
“I believe that the youth will get information about the currently available job opportunities,” he said.
He said further that the fact that employers and potential employees not being on the same wavelength is not new information and that it has been talked about constantly in the past. He also said that such job fairs give everyone an opportunity to give and receive information about potential job offers.
“And so, I would like to highlight that this is done with a higher purpose,” he said.
Numerous government organizations have taken part in this festival which boasts over 60 stalls. These government organizations include Maldives Police Service, Maldives National Defence Force, IGMH, Home Ministry, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Judicial Service Commission.
Aside from these organizations Public Service Media, Male' Water and Sewerage Company, Villa College, and State Trading Organization also are taking part in this job festival.
As per MNU the main objectives of this job festival is promoting and opening communications between the public and brands and other opportunities that may have gone unnoticed till now as well as bringing opportunities places have to foster the talents for handiwork to the spotlight.
