MNU commence graduation ceremonies with 344 students

Maldives National University on Wednesday commenced its graduation ceremonies with 344 graduates.

The university will have three ceremonies over the course of October 12 and 13.

The session held on Wednesday morning featured graduates from the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Shariah and Law, and Faculty of Education.

First Lady Fazna Ahmed presented certificates and special awards to students who completed their Bachelor’s Degrees and Master’s Degrees.

Speaking at this session, she encouraged graduates to pursue knowledge with the resolve to keep the flame of knowledge burning constantly.

She went on to highlight two areas, including practical experiences gained in the workplace, and the importance of pursuing life-long education.

Stating that different situations and circumstances may arise in the workplace, the first lady said all must work together towards achieving common goals.

Additionally, she reiterated the importance of life-long learning by stating that a person’s credentials only recognize their knowledge in a specific field and that it does not equate to life wisdom.

She added that the qualifications of the graduating class should be used as a stepping stone to further their knowledge, skills, and talents.

The second session of the graduation will be held on Wednesday night where students from the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Health Sciences will be graduating.

Finally, on October 13, the graduation ceremony for students from the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies and MNU Business School students will be held.
