MDA opens new office to improve administrative functioning

Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), on Monday, opened an office in Male’ City to improve the administrative functioning of the party.

At a ceremony held at the new office on Monday, the national flag and the party’s flag were hoisted. Deputy presidents of the party hoisted both flags, with Dr. Aishath Rafiyya hoisting the national flag whilst Ali Mauroof hoisted the party’s flag.

Speaking to Sun regarding the opening of the new office, Dr. Rafiyya said that efforts to strengthen the party for next year’s presidential elections were proceeding at a fast pace.

She added that the office opened today in line with these efforts will aid in strengthening MDA’s administrative functioning and further solidifying its framework. Dr. Rafiyya also said that administrative work being carried out in the past 10 years at the office, will be expanded and enhanced.

“Administrative work and the administrative framework will be strengthened at this office. Preparations for the presidential election, and formulation of SOPs will be done here. Staff will be recruited for further work. Although administrative work is carried out at the office, it will also see strategic work being carried out as well,” she detailed.

Dr. Rafiyya also thanked the party’s President, Meedhoo MP Ahmed Siyam Mohamed. She added that Siyam’s participation in the presidential election is a win for the youth.

She stressed that the Maldives is currently calling for such a leader. Whereas the tourism industry in the main influx of foreign currency to the nation – Dr. Rafiyya cited that the country currently needs an expert in the industry.

Also speaking regarding the newly opened office, Mauroof said that efforts were currently underway to increase members to MDA, and improve its administrative function as Siyam readies to compete in next year’s presidential election.

“All administrative work will be done at this office. This office will be working in collaboration with the offices established at atolls. This office will hail as the strongest administrative office,” he had said.

Mauroof said that the opening of the new office will fast-track all administrative procedures including the completion of important daily tasks.

MDA is undertaking many efforts as they begin to face the presidential election next year. Whilst it has been announced that the party’s leader Siyam will compete in the election – major campaigns are underway to increase membership.
