Gan Airport project will open for bidding next week

Ministry of Economic Affairs announced that the project to develop Gan International Airport will be opened for bidding in the coming week.

The ministry made the announcement via a statement. It was stated that the prequalification stages have now been completed.

Moreover, the Ministry had revealed that from the process, a total of six companies have qualified for the bidding.

This project is financed with loan aid from the EXIM Bank of India.

Under the project, a new terminal, control tower, fire station and cargo facilities will be established.

Earlier this week, the government signed with India's JMC Projects Limited to develop Hanimaadhoo Airport which will be financed by a Line of Credit from India’s EXIM Bank. The project is valued at USD 136.6 million.
