Tree Top Hospital launches Thalassemia packages

Tree Top Hospital, on Monday, has announced the launch of Thalassemia packages.

Considered one of the most common genetic disorder in the Maldives – Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder that causes your body to have less hemoglobin than normal.

Tree Top Hospital offers two Thalassemia packages;

Thalassemia Screening Package

This option is curated for those who want to get an initial diagnosis. The prior screening will assist to find out whether you carry the gene for sickle cell and or thalassemia. It is important to get tested when you are planning for a family, or during pregnancy.

Thalassemia Check-up Package

This option is for patients who are diagnosed with thalassemia and would like to get a health check-up and create a care plan and management of the condition better.

Apart from these packages, the hospital also offers Iron Chelation Therapy for patients with Thalassemia as an additional service. Iron chelation involves the removal of excess iron from your body which will be ordered by the consultant post-consultation.
