Fathimath Razeena has resigned from her position as Financial Controller.
Finance Ministry’s Communications Director Laman Waheed confirmed Razeena’s resignation Sunday.
Laman told Sun Razeena tendered her resignation to move abroad for her PhD.
She is pursuing her PhD in the field of finance and accounting.
Razeena has 25 years of experience in civil service.
She worked at the Education Ministry from 1997-2007, before joining Finance Ministry in 2007. She was appointed as the Financial Controller on July 5, 2016.
As the Financial Controller, Razeena was responsible for managing the state’s treasury and public accounts, as well as the state’s cashflow.
