MNDF permits the use of newly installed scan machines at four airports being operated by Regional Airports Company Limited.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has permitted the use of newly installed scan machines at four airports being operated by Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL).

The scan machines were installed at HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Airport, Sh. Funadhoo Airport, Fuvahmulah City Airport and GDh. Maavarulu Airport.

Defense Ministry’s Communications Director Mohamed Shan told Sun that with the installation of the new machines – screening machines being used at all RACL’s airports are included in ‘Maldives Aviation Security Screening Technology’ list formulated by the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA).

MNDF permits the use of newly installed scan machines at four airports being operated by Regional Airports Company Limited.

Shan identified the brand of the newly installed scan machines as ‘Rapiscan’; a brand which RACL is the authorized distributor and service provider for.

These four machines were installed as part of the work being carried out by DASA under the direct supervision of Defense Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi in implanting President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s vision to improve Maldives’ aviation sector.

This is the first time machines of this high quality is being used in the Maldives
