Library at Bilehffahi School upgraded through support of BML Community Fund

The library at Sh. Bilehffahi School has been with the support of Bank of Maldives’ (BML) Community Fund - which focuses on empowering individuals to contribute to society through sustainable community projects. 

BML detailed with the upgrade, the library currently has an additional 700 new books, bookshelves as well as chairs and tables in facilitating a better environment for the students to study.

The project was carried out by a teacher at Bilehffahi School, Ismail Shareef.

Commenting on the completion of the project – Shareef said that the addition of both English and Dhivehi language books will help implement the school's current reading program.

“With the addition of both English and Dhivehi books and an improved reading environment, the project will help implement the school's current reading program. We have also been able to create an environment where more children can develop interest to read and learn. I would like to thank Bilehffahi Council, teachers, librarian, and those who supported us throughout the project,” he had said.

BML’s Community Fund is a program that aims to empower individuals and NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. So far, the bank has provided financial assistance for 66 projects across the country through the program. 

Currently, the bank is evaluating the proposals received for the second quarter of this year.
