BML Bank Fund 2025: Five NGOs, including Diabetes Society, receive MVR 200,000 each

The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of funding for this year under of the BML Fund, an initiative the national bank launched last year to empower NGOs, charity organization and clubs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.

The winners of BML Bank Fund 2025 were announced on Monday. They are:

  • Diabetes Society of Maldives:

The Diabetes Society of Maldives pitched a proposal to establish a clinic in Hulhumale’ to expand accessible, community-based healthcare services that focus on prevention, early detection, and management of diabetes.

  • United Islamic Society

The United Islamic Society pitched a proposal to establish a modern multi-media studio at Dh. Atoll Education Center, aimed at enhancing students' digital media competencies and ensuring the continuity and professionalization of the school’s highly regarded Media Club.

Foundation for Eydhafushi Youth Linkage (FEYLI)

FEYLI pitched a project to establish two integrated Labs at B. Atoll Education Center to deliver comprehensive vocational and creative skills training.

  • Maldivian Nurses Association

Maldivian Nurses Association pitched a project to establish a sustainable, community-based mental health support services in Hulhumale’ Phase II that provides accessible, outreach and rehabilitative activities for individuals with severe mental illness.

  • Tiny Hearts of Maldives

Tiny Hearts of Maldives pitched a project to build a national digital resource hub for heart health and physical health.

Each of the NGOs received MVR 200,000 to run the projects.

According to BML, its Bank Fund initiative is aimed at empowering local communities and building a brighter future for the Maldives.
