The Election Commission (EC) has begun to publicize the names of those submitting forms to register with a political party.

According to an announcement by EC, before registering an individual to a party, the commission will be publicizing individual information to ensure the authenticity of the application submitted to them.

The full name, last two digits of the National ID card and party requested to be registered will be put up on the official website of the commission.

In addition to this, the announcement noted that a message stating that a form has been submitted will be sent to the number written on the application.

As part of this move, the election commission published the first list of names. The commission urged any complaints related to the list to be submitted before Sunday, May 29.

The list published consists of 23 registrations to Jumhooree Party, 105 registrations to Maldives Development Alliance and 245 applications for Maldives National Party.
