Transport Ministry has urged the public to appreciate women’s role in the maritime sector.

In a statement released in conjunction with ‘International Day for Women in Maritime’ – the Ministry assured that efforts were underway by the government to prioritize women in connection to matters related to the maritime sector.

“This Ministry’s aim is to rid of the gender imbalance in maritime sector – and ensure that the sector offers equal opportunities for everyone,” the statement read.

The Ministry also urged industry partners to overcome the obstructions posed to women in entering the sector by providing them with opportunities.
