A plane operated by the national airline, Maldivian, veered off during landing at the airport in L. Kadhdhoo on Thursday evening, amid bad weather conditions.
Island Aviation’s Deputy Managing Director Aishath Jennifer told Sun the incident took place due to bad weather.
“The weather is very bad in Kadhdhoo as well. It's very windy,” she said.
Jennifer said the plane veered off as it made its second attempt to land.
The incident did not result in any injuries, she said.
The plane was carrying passengers from Male’ to Kadhdhoo.
