Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated that they received 558 applications for the 19 stalls which will be situated at the local market being developed at Hiyaa Flat area in Hulhumale’ Phase 2, especially being developed for those residing in the area.
Application form acceptance and the draw for the stalls in the local market being developed at the beachside near Hiyaa Flats took place yesterday. The local market is being developed for the purpose of facilitating easy access to food products during Ramdan for those living in the area.
HDC’s Spokesperson Ali Mashaar told Sun that the temporary local market at Hiyaa Flat area will be completed prior to the start of Ramadan.
He detailed that efforts were underway to make agreements with the 19 individuals who had won stalls – whereas five people remain on the waiting list.
“A waiting list was drawn, because, for example, there are circumstances where (the stall) may be taken back. This is stipulated in the announcement. If such a circumstance arises or if a recipient of a stall wishes to let go of it,” he added.
Stalls from the local market had been issued to recipients of Hiyaa Flat units. Recipients must make an advance payment of MVR 2,000 within two days HDC informs via a letter of the win in draw.
With seven days of agreement execution regarding the stall, the recipient must commence provision of services. Should the recipient fail to commence services within this period, HDC said that the agreement will be terminated.
