The Community Eco Park has been opened in HA. Molhadhoo under the Bank of Maldives (BML)’s Community Fund initiative.

The project, run by local NGO Chill Bros, focuses on increasing awareness and encouraging visitors to experience the natural beauty of the area while helping preserve it for future generations.

The Community Eco Park in Molhadhoo was designed with a viewing platform and is equipped solar lighting, benches and seating area with waste bins to create an area that is relaxing and environmentally sustainable.

Chill Bros said that the project was carried out to strengthen local tourism in Molhadhoo.

“This is a special project carried out to strengthen local tourism in the island and create a way for visitors to experience the natural beauty of the island. We hope this space is beneficial for everyone in our community and beyond,” said the NGO.

The BML Community Fund is an initiative aimed at empowering individuals to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. The fund supports projects in the thematic areas of education, environment, sports and community development.

BML states it is currently evaluating the proposals it received for the first quarter of this year.
