SriLankan Airlines, Manta Air to connect Colombo-Huvadhoo

SriLankan Airlines and Manta Air to commence a project to directly connect the southernmost atolls to Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo.

During a press meeting held by Manta Air, the company’s CEO Mohamed Khaleel said that the company was starting flights to Kooddoo, Ga Atoll and Gan, Addu Atoll for now.

Flights will be scheduled to Addu every Saturday, and that flight will be making a stop in Kooddoo on every lag, he said.

Khaleel further said that once flights from Colombo to Addu increase, they will increase flights on the Kooddoo route.

Furthermore, Manta revealed plans to connect the southern atolls to Gan and stated that soon, flights will commence to Dhaalu Airport really soon.

The Regional Manager of SriLankan Airlines Jayantha Abeysinghe said that this was an opportunity they had hoped for when starting flights to Gan.

He added that starting daily scheduled flights to Addu was not too distant in the future.

Manta Airline will start scheduled flights to Gan International Airport on February 24.

To mark the occasion, the airline is selling tickets with a special discount, at MVR 1,250.
