Medianet announces ‘MS Short Movie Challenge’; winner to receive MVR 100,000

With a reward of MVR 100,000 for the first place winner, Medianet has announced a short film competition under the title ‘MS Short Movie Challenge’.

Anyone can take part in this competition. Films being entered into the competition must meet the following requirements;

  •          Longer than 40 minutes
  •          All videos should be shot in 1080p50 full HD or higher quality
  •          Theme of the submitting film can be any choice in genre except politics or anti-religious content and must not contain any content that conflicts with Maldives' Constitution, Laws and Regulations

Winners of the competition will be selected through a combination of voting from the judge’s panel and unique views on the short film on MS application. First place winner is set receive MVR 100,000. Second place winner is set to receive MVR 50,000. Third place winner is set to receive MVR 30,000.

Participants coming in top three will also be provided the opportunity to collaborate with Medianet to produce films, series and other types of content.

Interest individuals can submit the application to express interest in taking part in the competition before 5:00pm on March 3.

The short film and related documents must be submitted before 5:00pm on March 25. Unique views will be counted between April 2 to May 2.

Medianet reiterated the company’s commitment to facilitate opportunities for talented youths. They further said that their aim is to bring local-made content to viewers through Medianet’s platform.
