Applications reopen for scholarships to train principals

Education Ministry has reopened applications for scholarships to train school principals.

Education Ministry had opened applications for 20 scholarships for Master’s in School Administration/Education Management from Malaysia in November last year.

The ministry has now reopened applications for six scholarship spots following a shortage in qualified candidates.

Education Ministry said that the applicants selected will have their course fees covered, and receive an allowance equal to their salary, as well as a two-way ticket.

Interested candidates have been instructed to email their application forms, along with other relevant documents to [email protected].

Selected candidates will be bonded to work at a government school for a specific period of time.

Applications will close at 02:00 pm on Tuesday, February 22.

In order to be eligible for the scholarships, candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in teaching or education, and at least five years of experience as a teacher.

If the candidate is someone who has taken out student loan from the Education Ministry in the past, he/she must be someone who has not defaulted and has been paying repaying the loan in accordance with the repayment schedule.

Candidates who have completed a Master's Degree-level course in school administration or education management will be disqualified.
