MTCC contracted to harbor projects at Dhaandhoo and Kamadhoo

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted for harbor development projects at GA. Dhaandhoo and B. Kamadhoo.

At a ceremony held at the Planning Ministry on Thursday, the agreements pertaining to the projects were signed by Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Ahmed and MTCC’s CEO, Managing Director Adam Azim.

GA. Dhaandhoo Harbor Development Project

The project is valued at MVR 70 million. It must be completed within 485 days.

Under this project, a 529-meter harbor will be developed in the island, 81,404-cubic meters will be dredged for the harbor basin, and a 333-meter breakwater, 370-meter revetment, and 30-meter groynes will be constructed. Furthermore, a 100-meter-long and 3-meter-wide concrete jetty will also be constructed as part of the project.

B. Kamadhoo Harbor Development Project

The project is valued at MVR 40 million. It must be completed within 400 days.

The project involves dredging of 25,404 cubic meters for the harbor basin, and constructing a 180m breakwater. It will also include construction of an 826m revetment, 346m quay wall, 11m ramp, 1,730 sqm pavement, 70 mooring rings and 17 harbor lights.
