Superintendent of Police Fathimath Nashwa has been appointed as the Head of Police Media Center.
Maldives Police Service said that she had assumed the post on December 1. Prior to this, she was serving as the Upper North Division's Commander.
Nashwa is amongst the first three female officers who were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police in the Maldives.
She has been working at Maldives Police Service for over 25 years. Within this duation she has filled a mutitude of positions starting from an admin officer to a deputy head at unit level and to a head of department.
Maldives Police Service highlighted her most notable works as the programs she had organized and overseen as the Head of Crime Prevention and Public Affairs Department in collaboration with the community to prevent crimes. They also noted the 'Furaavaru Camp' that is organizaed for school children.
Nashwa holds a degree in mass communications and a master's degree in business adminstration. She is also a licensed life coach. In addition to this, she is a lecturer for various courses conducted at the Police Academy.
In 2018, Nashwa was bestowed the Rehendhi Award. In the same year she also recived the 'Women on Board' award.
In addition to this, she was also selected for the CSR Leadership Award from the Public Sector by South Asian Partnership Summit and Business.
