COVID-19: 157 new cases; 1,796 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 157 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 92,368.      

According to HPA, the 157 new cases include; 38 cases from the greater Male’ region, 117 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 2 cases from operational resorts, and 4 cases from liveaboards. 

Meanwhile, 99 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 90,304.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,796 active cases.      

There are 16 patients in hospitals.      

3,693 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 999 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 4 percent. 

With the 157 new infections on Monday, 825 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 255 COVID-19 deaths.
